Horary Astrology: the Cosmic Soul-Quest

A one-day horary workshop presented by Deborah Houlding

Horary is often presented as a materialistic predictive tool, but tradition teaches us that the question put to the astrologer should not only trouble the mind, it should also stir the spirit and originate from the soul. It should be a ‘soul-quest’. Under the correct circumstances we can expect the mind of the astrologer to act as a mirror to the cosmic truth, and we can witness horary as a very powerful tool indeed, not only for revealing the likely outcome of a problem, but also for demonstrating its origin and cause, and the route that must to be taken to avoid repetition and ensure a full resolution.

This one day workshop will introduce, and then explain the most pertinent techniques of horary through a practical demonstration of recent client charts covering a variety of typical horary themes. From the heart-breaking to the hilarious, and from the obviously emotional to the apparently mundane, the examples will convince you that the traditional technique of horary is a necessary tool for every modern astrologer, simple enough to be of immediate practical value, whilst powerful enough to change the lives of those who are trapped in cycles of despair.

Ideal for beginners through to experts - no previous horary knowledge is necessary

Deborah Houlding is a skilled and experienced practitioner of horary, and an internationally recognised authority on traditional astrological practice. She has previously acted as a tutor for Olivia Barclays’ Qualifying Horary Practitioner Course, horary editor for the AA Journal, and editor of the Traditional Astrologer magazine. She is an expert on the works and techniques of William Lilly (she produced a richly annotated volume of Christian Astrology), is known for her research into the origin and development of astrological symbolism (author of The Houses: Temples of the Sky), and has been teaching horary techniques to students around the world through seminars, lectures, workshops and correspondence since 1990.  She has presented master classes on horary for the Astrological Association of Great Britain, and has led several horary workshops for the Faculty of Astrological Studies summer school events, as well as many residential intensive courses throughout the UK, Europe, America and Australasia.

Although grounded in traditional knowledge, Deborah’s employment of horary recognises the value of psychological exploration, allowing horary to be one of the most effective tools for astrological insight, both in matters of spiritual guidance as well as predictive analysis.

Deborah’s personal website is at www.debhoulding.co.uk. Although she has never lectured in the Netherlands before, she is well-known to us through her website www.skyscript.co.uk.
